Homer Blow hosts 23rd Annual Milwaukee Birthday Bash, receives key to City of Milwaukee

Posted
MILWAUKEE -- Hundreds of kids lined up outside of the Boys and Girls Club on North Avenue to handpick some of their favorite gifts at the 23rd Annual Milwaukee Birthday Bash, made possible by Homer Blow.

Blow says poverty inspired his decision to start this annual birthday bash. He normally gives away presents every year but this year he received a big one.

"It's like Christmas in June," Blow said.

And it was all free, $5000 worth of toys and fun for Milwaukee’s children.

"They deserve it; the kids in our community deserve it," said Blow.

An amazing site to see---Blow was also given the key to the City of Milwaukee, something he’s very grateful for.

"I'm humbled. It lets me know that I'm doing something right, that I'm doing something right because I was born and raised in this city. It's just a blessing. It's a blessing," said Blow.

A key that adds a little more motivation to keep this annual birthday bash going for years to come.

"23 more years, I would love for this to be my legacy that these children look forward to every year," Blow said.

All toys donations were collected from various organizations throughout the city includingTODAY’S TMJ 4’s Carole Meekins.
