Authorities in Hartford are looking for a man they believe was trying to entice a 13-year-old girl, according to the Wisconsin Department of Justice.

The incident happened on the 600 block of Pleasant Ave. in Hartford on Monday around 7:30 a.m.

A 13-year-old female was trying to open a friend’s garage door when an older man approached her and told her to “come here,” officials said.

The man was driving an older, small, red four-door vehicle with tinted windows, oval headlights, and a black mark on the driver’s side front quarter panel.

The man pulled into the driveway in front of her,  opened the driver’s door, and told the girl in a lower, scratchy voice to "come here" multiple times. She ran behind the garage and waited until she heard the car door slam and the vehicle leave the driveway.

The driver was a white male in his early 20s. He is 5'9," with a medium build. He was wearing oval prescription glasses, a dark jacket, brown work boots, and a white collared shirt underneath the jacket.

He is described as having light brown hair, shorter on  the sides and longer in front.  He had a couple days growth of facial hair, according to authorities who noted his vehicle had Wisconsin tags that started with the letter 'R.'
