Harley-Davidson is looking to hire temporary positions

MILWAUKEE -- Harley-Davidson is looking to hire temporary workers in the months ahead – despite recent layoffs.

To fill help fill these positions, the company will host a recruitment event on Tuesday, November 14  at 9 a.m. at the WRTP/BIGSTEP Office, located at: 3841 W. Wisconsin Ave.

The pay for the temporary open positions starts at $15.50 per hour based on experience. The positions will work full-time hours with overtime potential. 

Some of the available jobs include: 

  •  Machine operators
  • Assemblers
  • Forklift operators
  • CNC machine operators

Milwaukee Alderman Russell Stamper is encouraging anyone looking for work to attend. 

"Harley-Davidson is a major Milwaukee employer, and this recruitment event is a great way to get residents involved with the business and the growing manufacturing industry in Wisconsin,” Stamper said.

The temporary job openings come after Harley-Davidson laid off more than 80 people in the Milwaukee-area last year. This was part of a 180 total job cuts at plants in Menomonee Falls and Kansas City. 

Harley-Davidson said the layoffs were due to declining sales at that period of time in the United States.
