Groundbreaking ceremonies are taking place this weekend for both the Milwaukee Bucks and Milwaukee Admirals new home arenas.
The Bucks groundbreaking celebration is this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting at the corner of Fourth Street and Juneau Avenue. The celebration includes the 'Second Annual Bucks Block Party,' featuring local music, food vendors, and kids games. Bucks players, owners, as well as former players will be at the celebration.
The Milwaukee Admirals and the Wisconsin Center District are holding their "ceremonial groundbreaking" Friday at 10 a.m. at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. The arena is to receive $6.3 million in upgrades, including a new locker room for the Admirals.
The two teams are moving out of the BMO Harris Bradley Center, the arena they shared for over two decades. The new Bucks arena is expected to be completed by 2018 in Downtown Milwaukee near Fourth Street and Juneau Avenue.
