A lockdown at Greenfield Middle School has ended without incident, but the search for a bank robbery suspect continues.

Greenfield Police released a security camera photo of a man they say robbed the Great Midwest Bank at 4775 South 27th Street near the middle school. The suspect took money from the bank and ran away.

Police ordered the lockdown of the school and asked residents to stay inside as a precautionary measure while officers searched for the suspect.

Only 8th grade students were at the school at the time of the lockdown. Sixth and 7th  graders were on a field trip. The lockdown happened about 2:00 p.m. and students were held for more than an hour and a half.

The suspect is described as a  white male, 25 to 30 years old, wearing khaki pants and a blue polo shirt.  He's also wearing a blue baseball hat, and white shoes according to police.

If you see him, do not approach. Instead, call police at 414-761-5310.
