GREENDALE -- A new movie theater is coming to the Southridge Mall and the village of Greendale will help pay for it.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Marcus Theatres Corp. will receive $1.5 million in public financing under a proposal unanimously approved by the Village Board Tuesday night.

The building will be located in the northeast corner of the mall property, 5300 S. 76th St., which is currently a parking lot.

It will have eight screens with sit-down dining rather than a concession stand.

Construction will begin this spring and take one year to complete.
