MILWAUKEE — The Glendale Police Department delivered Christmas presents to Parkway Elementary School students this week as a part of their Good Tidings event.

Each year, the police department hosts their shop with a cop event. However, because of the coronavirus pandemic, they couldn't host the event.

So, this year, they hosted Good Tidings, an event where they gave $100 gifts to students at Parkway Elementary.

The police department asked students to make a gift wish list of five items. They also asked for the name of the student's siblings and their ages.

The Glendale Police Department then selected gifts worth $100 and personally delivered those gifts to the children this week.

The purpose of the program is to provide a positive event to several children from our community while continuing to practice social distancing, so that we can protect the health and safety of our officers and community members alike, the Glendale Police Department said in a press release.
