WISCONSIN — Why do I keep thinking of the Godfather line, just when I think I'm out...they pull me back in? JSOnline was the first to report that Big Ten football should return, next month.

I caught up with Wisconsin Lutheran and Badgers football product Kevin Zeitler. The right guard, playing for the New York Giants, is glad to hear that his fellow Badgers may have a shot at this.

"I'm excited," Zeitler says. "You know, the guys, they put in a lot of work. And obviously this past year has been pretty crazy with the pandemic, everything, you know. Them, getting kicked out of school, having to go back to their homes to work out, and whatnot. You know, I think it coming back is just a great closure to get everything back to normal for them, and you know have the opportunity to compete again."

Is there some thought that you can almost be safer and healthy with the medical staff? With the training table? Staying in your practice environment rather than going off-campus?

"I think there is some truth to that," Zeitler says. "You know, when you're at, you know with your team. There is a lot of structure. There is a lot of accountability being around everyone every day. People can you know, get on each other if someone's messing around or whatnot. You know, I think it's actually a pretty good environment as long as everyone follows the rules."

Of course, like before, this is subject to change. With COVID outbreaks at several universities including UW-Madison and many colleges playing games, they've already had to reschedule.
