MILWAUKEE — If you're sad about the cancellation of Summerfest, you can get a free can cooler meant for the festival season from Summerfest itself.
The festival was canceled for the first time in its history due to coronavirus concerns. Summerfest is giving away the can coolers meant to be distributed at the now-canceled festival.
The limited-edition can cooler will be given away at the Summerfest Box Office on June 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A maximum of four can coolers will be given per person.
Summerfest is also encouraging people to share their own "DIY Summerfest" for a chance to win tickets to the 2021 festival. People can post a picture or video of their DIY Summerfest between June 24 and July 5 on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and tag #DIYSummerfest for a chance to win.
Select Summerfest food vendors, such as Famous Dave’s, Charcoal Grill, Pitch’s/Miss Katie’s, Saz’s and Pizza Man will have a limited quantity of can coolers available, as well.
