GERMANTOWN — Families in Germantown dug out from the heavy snow Wednesday so they could enjoy the weather. Dennis Kuhn decided not to go to work.

“I cheated. ... You can’t just let this go to waste,” Kuhn said.

Kuhn wanted to spend the day with his grandchildren, who were excited to learn school was called off.

“I was like yeees,” Emma Kuhn said.

“I really didn’t want to go to school,” Liam Kuhn said.

They went to Kinderberg Park, where many kids spent their snow day.

“We found out today we had off school, so we were like first thing we got to do is go sledding,” Mason Tate said.

“Fast, fun, falling off sleds,” Auggie Pieper said.

As you can imagine, kids were beyond thrilled to stay home.

“I like screamed, and then I texted all my friends,” Ellie Tonnessen said.

The Wandreys spent their snow day driving four-wheelers around the yard.

“It’s snowy. I could do some skids in the driveway and drive it around and yah know have fun,” Matthew Wandrey said.

He was happy to be doing doughnuts instead of taking his science test.

“This is the first time I’ve been with the guys for a long time on a day off of school, and it was just a lot of fun,” Mike Wandrey said.
