Germantown crash leads to fatality, numerous injured including baby

The Germantown Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a roll-over crash on I41 southbound Tuesday, Feb. 9 at approximately 6:43 a.m.

According to police, a northbound vehicle operated by a 50-year-old Kewaskum woman crossed the median and struck a southbound vehicle driven by a 50-year-old Milwaukee man.

The northbound vehicle then spun and was struck by another vehicle going southbound occupied by a 29-year-old woman and a 3 1/2-month-old baby from West Bend.

After being struck, The northbound vehicle then rolled into a ditch.

A fourth vehicle, driven by a 49-year-old man also crashed into the median trying to avoid the initial crashes, police say.

The 50-year-old woman driving northbound that crossed the median later died at Froedtert Hospital hours after the crash.

The other three people, including the baby, all suffered minor injuries, were taken to local hospitals for treatment and are expected to survive.

Wisconsin State Patrol will be reconstructing the crash scene. The crash is still being investigated at this time and police say additional details will be released as they become available.
