A pregnant gas station clerk was in the midst of a shift change when she was suddenly attacked.

It happened Wednesday at a Toledo, Ohio gas station. The entire incident was caught on camera.

"He came up and asked me to swipe his card for him," pregnant clerk Desiree Hunt remembers. "As soon as I went to do it, I had money in my hand and he tried yanking the money from me and I pulled back."

That's when Hunt, eight months pregnant, jumped back. In the video, the suspect jumps the counter and attacks her. You can see her try to turn away from the robber.

"I was trying to protect my belly," Hunt says. "I was scared. I was just trying to get away from him and get to a phone to call the cops."

The gas station manager, Angel Gonzales, then grabbed the suspect from behind.

"Got him to the ground and I just started beating him with the fire extinguisher," Gonzales says.

Desiree called 911. The store manager hit the suspect with the fire extinguisher at least five times. A customer even hopped on the counter to stop him.

"Had the other gentleman not jumped on the counter to stop me, I don't know if I would have stopped. I was just thinking protect her because she's pregnant," he said.

The suspect tries to jump back over the counter, but a male employee grabbed him by the pants. He continued to fight to try and get away.

"We work so hard to bring this store up only for losers like that to come in and take it all from us. I'm tried of it. This is the third time this has happened to me when I've been in this type of situation. I just want to let them know we're done we're done with people like that coming in and taking from us," Gonzales said.

The suspect is still on the run. Police are asking anyone with information to call them immediately.
