The North Shore Fire Department reports the gas leak has been stopped by We Energies. Affected homes have been metered and residents have been allowed back to their homes.
No injuries have been reported.
ORIGINAL STORY:
VILLAGE OF BAYSIDE -- Crews are on the scene of a high pressure natural gas line struck by construction crews at Rexleigh and Ellsworth in Village of Bayside.
The North Shore Fire Department says evacuations of nearby homes is currently underway.
The public is urged to avoid the area. We Energies is responding to the scene.
