NBC's "World of Dance" is a show that brings some of the world's best dancers under one roof to compete and on Tuesday night, some families in southeast Wisconsin saw a familiar face while watching the show.

Nick Young grew up in Franklin. He is now a professional dancer in Los Angeles, and the leader of a tap dancing group called “Rythmatics.”

"Seeing him on World of Dance was so amazing!" said Emily Duelge, who grew up dancing with Young. "He auditioned in front of Jennifer Lopez! He is so talented. He moves his body so effortlessly, and his feet are moving so fast. It's just so fun to watch. He still comes to the studio to teach us sometimes."

The studio she's referring to is in Oak Creek, called Young Dance Academy. Young's mom has owned it since before he was born. She also tap dances. She brought him to a class when he was very young, and the rest is history.

"He seemed to enjoy it right off the bat," said Sandy Young. "He drove us a little crazy. He always had so much energy, and he'd come running into class, sliding across the floor. There were a few years where I think it was hard for him to be a dancer, when it wasn't necessarily the cool thing for a boy to do. But he stuck with it, and really enjoys it. He's an awesome choreographer too. He creates some incredible dance routines."
