Baird improved on its No. 6 position last year, and has ranked in the top Top 10 for four consecutive years and the top 25 for the past nine years.

According to Fortune, Baird "gets high marks for a company culture that values integrity and teamwork," and points out that "two-thirds of employees are currently shareholders." The publication also quoted an employee as saying “everyone is playing the same game and we are all equal contributors.”
Fortune uses an employee survey if more than 230,000 people to compile its list. Employees are asked to assess their workplace with factors including the "quality of their leaders, support for their personal and professional lives, and their relationships with colleagues."
Baird CEO Paul Purcell issued a news release calling his associates "the best in the industry." The company has been around since 1919.
A Sheboygan company, Acuity, was ranked No. 9 on the 2017 list after landing the second slot year and the third position the year before that.
Fortune ranked Google the No. 1 place to work for the eighth time in 11 years.
No other Wisconsin companies made the list.
