Former Gov. Scott Walker and U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continue to butt heads, and this time the two took to Twitter to express their differences on marginal tax rates.
Walker tweeted about marginal tax rates pre-Reagan, saying "Even 5th graders get it."
Explaining tax rates before Reagan to 5th graders: “Imagine if you did chores for your grandma and she gave you $10. When you got home, your parents took $7 from you.” The students said: “That’s not fair!” Even 5th graders get it.

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez replied to the former governor's tweet, but instead of targeting the lesson toward fifth graders, she more specifically directed her tweet to "a far-right former Governor."

Imagine if you did chores for abuela & she gave you $10. When you got home, you got to keep it, because it’s only $10.
Then we taxed the billionaire in town because he’s making tons of money underpaying the townspeople. https://t.co/Wcnn2sEgek
Walker quoted Ocasio-Cortez once more, then went on a bit of a rampage about socialism, effectively sub-tweeting the Democratic representative.
Imagine thinking socialism works. It doesn’t. It’s failed time and time again.

We need to send less of our hard-earned dollars to Washington, not more. The American people know how to spend their money better than out of touch politicians and bureaucrats do. https://t.co/PknOwOUn7K
Walker left the battle with a tweet saying the last time the government had a 70 percent tax rate, Jimmy Carter told the country was in a "malaise."
