FOND DU LAC -- The Fond du Lac Police Department is dealing with several reports of fraudulent bank account withdrawals, according to a news release.
The withdrawals may be due to credit card skimming, with the reports coming in over the past holiday weekend.
FDLPD is also seeking help in identifying two people of interest that were seen driving a green color Volkswagen 4-door sedan with no front plate.
FDLPD is advising people to do the following in order to protect themselves from credit card skimming...
- Review your bank statements and report any suspicious and unauthorized withdrawals to both your bank and Law Enforcement.
- Refrain from paying for your gas at pumps. Instead, go inside and pay directly with the clerk.
- Check to make sure that the card reader at the pump does not appear to have been tampered with, or a skimmer added.
