MILWAUKEE -- No problems at Mitchell International Wednesday morning - all flights to Florida are still taking off.

Airline travelers like Kathleen Vogel are heading to Orlando while they still can.

Vogel grew up in Milwaukee and her parents still live here - but her husband and kids are down in Florida.

"I'm a little apprehensive, but I want to go home and be with my family and make an informed decision about evacuating," Vogel said.

Irma is one of strongest storms ever recorded in the Atlantic. The storm is threatening to snarl U.S. flights just as the industry was trying to get back on track following Hurricane Harvey.

Glena Snyder and Will Schantal spent a week visiting family in Milwaukee. The couple is now heading back to Florida, even though their Wisconsin family urged them to stay in the Badger State.

"We had so many of our family asking if we wanted to stay. Part of us wants to stay, where it's safe. However, I want to be at home. We don't know what's going to happen in Florida and our kids are there," said Snyder.
As Hurricane Irma bears down on Florida,  cruise lines operating out of Miami and several other cities are now canceling trips.
