Emergency officials responded to helicopter crash at the Kenosha Regional Airport around 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
Kenosha police say there was only one man in the helicopter when it crashed. That man was taken by Flight for Life to a Milwaukee hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The helicopter crashed west of the air traffic control tower, landing on its side.
The helicopter is registered to a corporation called A-Z Leasing LLC with an address in Kenosha, but the helicopter may have been rented out at the time of the crash to a company called Lakeshore Helicopter.
Lakeshore is a company that according to its website provides charter service, flight instruction and scenic tours. A woman who answered the phone at Lakeshore said the helicopter was with them at the time, though she didn't have any other information.
The helicopter is a single-engine, light utility helicopter with two seats. Authorities say only the pilot was on board at the time.
No other injuries were reported in this incident.
The FAA was contacted and they are handling the investigation.
No other information has been released at this time.
