MOUNT PLEASANT — First responders were able to pull two people out of an SUV after the vehicle rolled over in Mount Pleasant.

Police and firefighters were dispatched to the intersection of State Highway 31 and Timber Drive at around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities found a Ford Escape rolled onto its passenger side after colliding with another vehicle.

Firefighters say man and a woman were trapped inside and weren't able to get out on their own. Fire crews stabilized the vehicle, and removed the SUV's roof in order to get them out, which took firefighters about 15 minutes to complete.

The two were taken to Wheaton Franciscan All Saints hospital in Racine to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. The people inside the other vehicle involved in the collision were not hurt.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Mount Pleasant Police Department.
