MILWAUKEE -- Nobody is hurt after a fire fully engulfed a home near Miller Valley, the Milwaukee Fire Department said.

It happened around 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning near W. St. Paul Ave. and N. 35th St. The home was already heavily covered in flames when firefighters arrived, but they were able to quickly put it out despite what the fire department described as a man outside trying to put out the flames.

"When firefighters arrived we began working," Deputy Chief Aaron Lipski said. "We don't need anyone getting in our way or grabbing our equipment or thrusting themselves into the situation."

Fire officials say nobody was in the house at the time of the fire, and that it is being considered suspicious.
