MADISON -- In the past two days, Madison police have responded to six calls regarding heroin overdoses, involving eight people.
According to our partners at Channel 3000, police are now investigating whether fentanyl-laced heroin could be the cause of the increase in heroin overdoses in the past 48 hours.
Usually when this happens, dealers are mixing the heroin with fentanyl, which makes it extremely dangerous, Madison police Officer Bernie Albright told Channel 3000.
One of the victims was a 33-year-old woman found lying on the sidewalk with a syringe in-hand. She did survive.
