The new Star Wars movie premiered Thursday night and die-hard fans filled up theaters to be some of the first to take in the film.

“It was unreal like there were so many twists and crazy things that happened the entire time people just clapping and cheering cause it was insane,” said Jarred Glaser.

“That might be my favorite Star Wars movie ever,” said Justin Bush.

“Everything you needed in a Star Wars movie,” said Greg Hohl.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi met fans expectations.

“A lot of action packed action and nail-biters and just a lot of fun stuff in it,” said 11-year-old Ben Beckmann.

“And it’s like really cliff-hangy,” said 11-year-old Zach Drzadinski.

The Bulgerin sisters carried on a family tradition.

“Star Wars was actually our parents first date in 1977 and so Star Wars has been a big part of our lives our entire lives and it’s been a tradition we’ve been to every single Star Wars movie opening night,” said Samantha Bulgerin.

And, fans dressed the part.

“It’s just such a big thing for us that you want to show your spirit it’s like team sport wear,” said Hannah Bulgerin.

“You get to pretend that you’re in the movie you get to be a kid again,” said Eric Nycz.

Diehards said their healthy obsession with the movies is bigger than being entertained.

“The first movie I ever went to as a kid was Empire. I was three years old in the theater I loved the film franchise ever since it’s amazing,” Ncyz said.

“There is such a passion and a mutual community that just comes together. It unites so many people,” said Lynn Richter.

Many shows are sold out. Marcus Theatres suggests you get tickets in advance.
