WEST ALLIS -- Vandals hit a popular playground at Liberty Heights Park in West Allis.
West Allis police have put up yellow tape around what appears to be a severely melted slide.
Betsy Flores and her kids pulled to park hoping to enjoy a warm afternoon she says they were just here Friday and everything was fine.
"I was in shock; I was really in shock because this is a good area so I really wouldn't expect this to happen here,” she said.
"I'm hoping that they find out who it was and that it does stop, this is a kids area."
West Allis Mayor Dan Devine wishes the same. In a Facebook post Saturday morning, he asked for anyone with information to contact police.
Surveillance cameras are nearby; neighbors have a message for the person or people responsible.
"Don't come here and wreck our park. This is just terrible. Terrible," Rich Vanselow said.
"Don't do it again because if I see you, I'll turn you in for sure."
TODAY’S TMJ4 reached out to West Allis officials to find out how much it will cost them to repair the park -- but we have not yet heard back.
