Sheriff after deadly crash calls wrong way drivers an 'epidemic'
MILWAUKEE - Investigators need your help identifying the man who died in a fiery wrong-way crash at the Marquette Interchange Wednesday morning.
The crash was the fourth wrong way report this week, and there have been more than 100 reported in Milwaukee County this year.
“It's epidemic proportions when you have 125 people in 10 months getting on the freeway the wrong way,” said Acting Milwaukee County Sheriff Richard Schmidt.
The car smashed into a UPS semi truck, and the driver aid the car didn’t have its lights on.
Authorities are still trying to identify the victim. Schmidt said if you know anyone that is missing to contact the sheriff’s office.
