MILWAUKEE -- Emergency pavement repair forced law enforcement to close the left two lanes of I-43 northbound in Milwaukee County for several hours.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, pavement needed to be repaired in the left lanes on the northbound lanes of I-43 on the Hampton Avenue Bridge over the Milwaukee River.
The pavement repair and lane closures started just before 7 a.m. Thursday. The freeway was reopened roughly four hours later.
The closure happened during the morning rush hour and caused significant delays on the freeway.
