BROOKFIELD — The Elmbrook School District is taking hard stance on vaping, after the CDC said they're investigating a multi-state outbreak of lunge disease associated with e-cigarette product use. They're educating their students on vaping and trying to stop kids from using them.

Through a partnership with Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, Your Choice To Live, Inc., and the American Lung Association, the school district is sending educational videos and public service announcements to families regarding vaping.

In October, the district plans to take an in-depth look at the Health Hazards of Vaping, followed by Consequences of Teen Vaping in November.

Following the video series in December, the Elmbrook Parent Network will host an informational session with local vaping expert, Dr. Barbara Calkins of Children's Hospital, at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts. Families and students can reserve their seat here.
