A Jilly's Car Wash employee escaped a close call after a truck lurched backward, nearly crushing him.
Brashaun Branch, a co-worker at the Elm Grove car wash, said in a split-second the truck headed right towards the other employee, and he barely had time to warn him.
Jilly's Car Wash is usually a busy place. That was no exception earlier this week when Branch and his coworker were on their shift.
"Me and my co-worker, we are just two people who wash cars before they go into a normal car wash," Branch said.
As his co-worker got the next car set, he moved to get sponges from Branch. That's when the pickup truck started reversing right into his coworker. Branch says he yelled out.
"I was just like, 'Hey!' you know," Branch said. "At that moment he jumped out of the way and luckily he had enough time."
There was barely a second for the worker to get to safety. Police said the driver of the truck accidentally knocked the car into gear and his foot hit the accelerator. Branch said when the two of them saw the video they were both shaken.
"Just thank God nobody really got hurt in the end," Branch said.
The two ended up going right back to work and finishing their shift.
