Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres joined in J.J. Watt’s campaign to raise money for relief for Harvey victims Wednesday, announcing a $1 million donation from Walmart on her show.
On Twitter, Ellen posted, “When #Texas needed him, @JJWatt was there. I was honored to help make this amazing gift from @Walmart possible.”

Watt responded, “This was truly unbelievable. Thank you Ellen! We're over $8.5 MILLION now!”

Watt upped his goal to $10 million earlier in the day Wednesday. The campaign started with $100,000 of Watt’s own money and it has snowballed into a viral fundraising campaign.
