EAU CLAIRE -- A Wisconsin man is being praised by police for his honesty after he turned in a large amount of money.
John Franson, found $29,000 in a folder while shopping at Menard's, according to a Facebook post from the Eau Claire Police Department. Franson called officers and turned over the money.
"ECPD located the owner of the money and it has been returned to them," the post reads. "Eau Claire has honest people!"
The discovery comes just weeks after a housekeeper turned in $12,000 she found in an Eau Claire hotel room.
