Driver led multiple agencies in high-speed chase that ended in a crash

SHEBOYGAN — A driver led several law enforcement agencies in a high-speed chase on Dec. 7 that ultimately ended in a crash.

At approximately 4:00 p.m. on Dec. 7, a deputy with the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Department attempted to stop a vehicle on I-43 at County Road V that was listed as stolen in Milwaukee. The vehicle did not stop and reached speeds of 110 miles per hour during the pursuit, according to authorities.

The pursuit continued into Ozaukee County until the vehicle crashed trying to exit the interstate at the Belgium exit. After the crash, five occupants of the vehicle fled on foot. All five were apprehended shortly after fleeing, the Office says.

The driver was charged with fleeing/elduing, recklessly endangering safety, operate a motor vehicle without owner's consent as well as numerous other traffic violations. One passenger was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

The Ozaukee County Sheriff's Department is handling the crash portion from this incident. Assisting agencies included Wisconsin State Patrol, Ozaukee County Sheriff's Department, and Port Washington Police Department.
