GREENFIELD -- Two people had to be extricated from a vehicle after it rolled over on I-43 early Sunday.
The vehicle crashed and landed in a ditch at approximately 1:50 a.m. on I-43 east near 27th Street.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said the driver attempted to crawl into the back seat to hide the fact that he was the driver. Both he and the passenger denied driving the vehicle and said the driver, whose name they did not know, fled the scene.
Both were taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK.
The driver was arrested for his second DUI and second DUI causing injury. He was also cited for operating with a revoked license, refusal to submit to chemical tests and unreasonable and imprudent speed.
If convicted of the felony and misdemeanor charges, he faces up to 6.5 years in prison.
