The Milwaukee Department of Public Works is investigating a photo circulating on social media of a cooler with a Ku Klux Klan sticker, allegedly belonging to a contracted worker.

In a statement, the DPW said, “If, in fact, the cooler with the stickers belongs to an individual working on a City contract, it would be best if the individual works someplace other than the City of Milwaukee.”

Th DPW released the photo Friday night along with the statement. The cooler also appears to have a Confederate Flag sticker.

The person who sent it out claimed it belongs to a contracted worker working on a city project at 25th and Wells.
