Downtown construction causes traffic hassles for Bucks home opener

Before we can enjoy a new Bucks Arena, we have to get through its construction.

Many fans who attended the Bucks home opener at the BMO Harris Bradley Center Wednesday night noticed the traffic and parking hassles.

“They’re knocking down parking structures,” says Terry Zychowski. “You’ve got construction everywhere. There are no pedestrian crossings. Sidewalks and roads are closed. Just wait until it starts snowing. It’s going to get worse. They say this will all be worth it. I hope they’re right. My advice would be to get the construction of this new arena done as soon as they can."
Getting to the game took some extra effort.

“I got dropped off, because I heard parking was so bad,” says Louis Farmer. “I think it’s going to hurt for awhile. But I guess we have to be patient. This is my team. I’m still going to come”

“I decided to take an Uber,” says Cesar Romero. “It’s a lot easier and cheaper.”
In addition to more people using Uber, there are also some shuttles from local bars and restaurants. Potawatomi Casino offers free parking, and a discounted shuttle to the game.

“You just have to give yourself more time,” says Kelly Baylor. “It’s not that bad. I think it’s good to see this happening downtown. We have a lot to be excited about."
