DODGE COUNTY — Recent reports show scammers are calling individuals pretending to be Dodge County Officers and attempting to scare victims into making payments.

The Dodge County Sheriffs office have received reports that citizens are receiving calls from scammers claiming to be members of the Dodge County Sheriff's Office. Reports are that the scammers are claiming to be Major Walker, a judge, or some other ranking official, and they're making false allegations that the victim has a warrant or missed a juror assignment. The scammers are attempting to scare victims into making payments.

The Sheriff's office would like citizens to know that they will never call a citizen and ask them to pay for a warrant over the phone. In addition, if you receive a call like this, they would like you to hang up, and call the Sheriff's Office directly. They will then connect you with a deputy who will help guide you through the scam attempt.

According to the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, the fastest way to shut these scammers down is to inform the public of them, however, they can't do that unless the scams are reported.

The number for the Dodge County Sheriff's Office is (920) 386-4115.
