The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is urging drivers to take it slow after a deputy's dashcam captured a vehicle lose control and jump the guardrail on Wednesday night.

The deputy was parked on the westbound shoulder and was out of his squad car assisting a driver who ran off the road when the incident happened.

An SUV traveling east lost control and plowed through the median, coming within 10 feet of the deputy, jumping the guardrail and ending up facing east in the westbound lanes.

Nobody was injured in the crash.
