Three Milwaukee County sheriff's deputies were injured Sunday after working to secure a subject who fled from an area hospital.
Calls came in about 11 a.m. for the subject who escaped from an emergency detention-related hold at a hospital. Deputies located the man soon thereafter in the 2900 block of N. Teutonia Avenue.
The man did not comply with the deputies and struggled with them while they attempted to secure him. Deputies then utilized a Taser in order to take the man into custody.
Three deputies sustained injuries in the struggle with the man, and two of them were sent to the hospital for treatment.
The man was taken to the hospital for evaluation and then to the Milwaukee County Jail, pending the presentation of charges including Battery to a Law Enforcement Officer and Resisting and Obstructing.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office is still investigating this incident.
