WISCONSIN — The Democratic Party of Wisconsin (DPW) announced Wednesday that it will be hosting a fundraiser featuring the cast of VEEP.
The reunion will include appearances from Julia Louis-Dreyfus (President Selina Meyer) Anna Chlumsky (Amy Brookheimer), Reid Scott (Dan Eagan), Sam Richardson (Richard Splett), Tony Hale (Gary Walsh), Timothy Simons (Jonah Ryan), Clea DuVall (Marjorie Palmiotti), Matt Walsh (Mike McLintock), David Mandel (Executive Producer and Show-Runner) and a number of special guests.
The event will include a discussion of the show, a fan Q&A, and special skits. Similar to previous DPW fundraisers with The Princess Bride and Parks and Recreation casts, which raised a combined nearly $5 million, anyone in the United States can watch and participate in the VEEP cast reunion for a minimum $1 donation.
Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler said he looks forward to another exciting fundraising opportunity.
"We are ecstatic to have the second worst President ever Selina Meyer and her incompetent— but not THE most incompetent— staff headline a fundraiser for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin," Wikler said. "Whatever pitfalls her administration faced, it’s clear the Meyer administration— as short as it was— would have handled the COVID-19 pandemic with the seriousness it deserves, rather than making it a political game as Trump has done. Former President Meyer and her team recognize that if we are going to get our country back on track, we have to send Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House, and that can only happen if we win Wisconsin."
