CITY OF DELAVAN -- The City of Delavan Police Department has asked the Walworth County Sheriff to investigate one of their own.
The police chief tells TODAY'S TMJ4 charges are pending against Lieutenant Todd Wiese for strangulation, battery and disorderly conduct against a female acquaintance while off-duty inside his Delavan home Saturday.
Many in the community we spoke to Wednesday want to know why they are only learning now what happened last week.

"It's horrible, makes me question what kind of police force do we got?" said Bob Penniman, Township of Delavan resident.
"A police officer...we're supposed to look up to them is my feeling," said Eileen Hoover, City of Delavan resident.
"Big surprise I would say, because that doesn't happen here," said Brigitta Penniman, Township of Delavan resident.
There's no word on when Todd Wiese will be officially charged. The Walworth County Sheriff's Office is handling the criminal investigation, while Delavan Police are also conducting an internal investigation. Wiese was booked in the Waukesha County Jail, and posted a $10,000 signature bond Monday, pending official charges.
