Deceased woman pulled from Fox River by Green Lake County Sheriff's Office

SAINT MARIE — The Green Lake County Sheriff's Office pulled a woman from the Fox River on Saturday in the Township of Saint Marie.

On January 2 at 12:30 p.m., the GLCSO received a call about a 35-year-old woman who was outdoors with her two dogs near the Fox River off of Huckleberry Road. The caller stated the woman and the dogs could not be located.

The woman's hat was located on the ice near the edge of the river where she was outside painting. A search for the woman began immediately.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., the woman was located deceased in the river downstream about 3/4 of a mile from where the incident began. One of the dogs was rescued by the caller and the other was not recovered.

The incident was responded to by fire/rescue units from Princeton, Berlin, Green Lake, and Markesan. Berlin EMS units, Drone units from Marquette and Green Lake County Sheriff's Offices responded to the scene as well. The incident remains under investigation by the Green Lake County Sheriff's Office
