WASHINGTON -- What's the best way to sell people on your Washington, D.C. hotel? Apparently, using a photo of the Wisconsin capitol building helps.
According to the Washington Post, a D.C.-based hotel group recently pulled images of the statehouse in Madison from at least five area hotels' websites.
"The image was a result of human error...their website company was recently moving the pages around and pulled the wrong photo," Modus Hotels told the Post.
Constructed from 1906 to 1917, the beautiful capitol building's dome reaches nearly 300 feet high - perhaps one reason it was confused with the one in the District of Columbia.
The Washington Post says Modus removed the offending photo from its websites after they reached out.
