DATCP issues recall on Leroy Meats of Horicon

Products were not properly inspected before sale

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection issued a recall of meat products due to improper inspection from by Prairie du Chien-based Leroy Meats of Horicon and Mississippi Meat.

DATCP said in a news release Monday that the products were not produced with the, “benefit of inspection by state officials as required for products with that are labeled with the Wisconsin mark of inspection…”

The products were sold at stores prior to May 12. The following products are included in the recall:

  • Roast Pork in Gravy
  • Chicken Marsala
  • Sliced Roast Beef in Gravy
  • Barbeque Shredded Beef
  • Shredded Roast Beef in Gravy
  • Breakfast Bacon Burrito
  • Breakfast Burrito
  • Barbeque Shredded Pork
  • Liver Pate Cracker Spread
  • Italian Sausage Ziti Bake
  • Barbeque Shredded Chicken
  • Beef Pepper Steak
  • Roast Turkey in Gravy
  • Chicken Stroganoff 
  • Beef Stroganoff 
  • Beef Stew 
  • Beef Tips with Mushrooms in Gravy 
  • Breakfast Ham Burrito 
  • Chicken Ala King 
  • Chili 
  • Chicken Noodle Soup 
  • Cooked Taco Meat 
  • Chicken Philly Meat 
  • Lasagna

Mississippi Meats 

  • Chicken Pot Pie

No illnesses due to eating these products have been reported thus far. If you have purchased the product, you can return it to the place you bought it, or throw the food away.'
