Customers steadily passed through the doors of the Pewaukee Corner Pump Tuesday, hoping to be the next big lotto winner.

Last year, a ticket from here was worth more than $156 million. Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot climbed above the $520 million mark and lotto fever set in.

“About a year ago somebody had won here, and it was a woman, and I’m thinking maybe me,” Kathy Parker said.

She was one of many that picked this spot for that reason.

The cashier at the store said in addition to gas and food, most people were looking for Mega Millions tickets “probably like almost every single one of them” said Alma Wildenberg.

The odds of winning Tuesday’s jackpot are somewhere in the 1 in 300 million range. Parker knows exactly what she’d do with it, “take a vacation in the winter where it’s warm” she said.
