MILWAUKEE — A local couple shared their story about losing their infant daughter shortly after birth to help other families who are grieving.

Amanda and Ryan Gintoft's daughter Greta was born premature. She fought for 17 days in the NICU before leaving this world.

The Gintofts are honoring Greta's legacy by bringing awareness to premature births.

October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

The March of Dimes has named the Gintofts as this year's Ambassador Family for the Milwaukee Signature Chefs Auction.

The event will take place Wednesday at The Pfister Hotel. The goal is to raise $200,000.

The March of Dimes offers program and support to help families with healthy pregnancies.

Ryan and Amanda hope that sharing their experience will honor Greta and help other families in the future.
