The Waukesha Police Department are informing the public that a convicted sex offender is set to be released from prison today.
Daniel Schmidt, 27, spent the last six years in prison after he was convicted of possession of child pornography, fleeing an officer and third degree sexual assault of a 13-year-old child.
Schmidt will be moving into a home purchased by his parents on Ramona Dr. in Waukesha.
He will be listed as a sex offender for life and will no be allowed to have unsupervised contact with minors, past victims or be allowed to purchase or consume alcohol or illegal drugs.
Schmidt will also be on a lifetime GPS monitoring.
