MOUNT PLEASANT - A utility pole is back where it belongs in Mount Pleasant.
It may seem like an obvious sentiment, but this week that pole caused a ruckus as it blocked part of a newly renovated road.
The pole was about two feet into Taylor Avenue, and orange safety cones marked the unsafe obstruction.
On Tuesday, AT&T promised it would move the pole by the end of the day Wednesday. They made good on that promise.
At first, the misplaced pole was comical to residents. But there was also real reason for concern.
The pole was discovered on Monday, but safety barrels weren’t put around it to warn motorists until Tuesday.
There is no word yet on how the mishap happened, and Racine County declined an interview Tuesday, but said other companies had their poles moved in June.
