RACINE--A homeless man allegedly raped a sleeping woman and then jumped out the window after she woke up, according to a criminal complaint from the Racine County District Attorney's office.

Julius Juniel, 31, was charged with third degree sexual assault on Wednesday, Decemeber 7th.

According to the criminal complaint, the Racine Police Department found Juniel at 16th St. and Taylor Ave. after Juniel had called police saying he had been robbed by two males at a party on December 6th. Juniel gave police a different description of the two males than what he had told dispatch. He also indicated that there was a woman at the home who was "freaked out" because she didn't remember having sex with him.

During this time police also noticed a bump on Juniel's head and a cut on his lip. Juniel said he received the injuries when a vase was thrown at his head and when he jumped out the window. Later, he said he received them from being hit with a gun.

Juniel showed the police to a home and one of the officers spoke with a woman inside. According to the criminal complaint, the woman began crying, and told the officer that she had been sexually assaulted and that the man who did it had jumped out the window.

Two other individuals were at the home and told police that there was no party, but Juniel had been drinking beer in their living room.  Both individuals stated that they woke up to find the victim in the kitchen/living room area and she was panicking.

The victim stated that she had never met Juniel before that day, and she was at the home visiting a friend. The victim decided to stay at the home because she had been drinking. Later, she woke up to find Juniel on top of her.

Juniel's story changed several times throughout his interaction with the police, but  he did indicate that when the victim woke up, she was in shock.

A preliminary hearing will be held for Juniel on December 15th, 2016.
