MILWAUKEE — Temperatures are continuously dropping and parts of southeastern Wisconsin saw snow Monday night, so We Energies is reminding people to apply for energy assistance if needed.

The Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP) provides a one-time grant to help qualified residents pay their energy bills. Over 200,000 homes receive assistance yearly.

Assistance is determined by household size, income and energy costs.

To apply, visit the WHEAP website or call (866) 432-8947. Milwaukee County residents should visit the Milwaukee County Health and Human Services website or call (414) 270-4643.
