West Bend firefighters responded to a report of a fire Tuesday night that was later to be discovered the result of a potentially recalled coffee maker.
The West Bend Fire Department says the call came in at 9:09 p.m., and that the home owner was successfully able to extinguish the fire on their own with a dry chemical fire extinguisher.
The coffee maker itself was completely melted and caused damage to the cabinets above it.
Fire officials say the model of Black & Decker coffee maker, possibly model number SCM2000BD, looks similar to ones that have been recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Check the CPSC website to make sure this doesn't happen to you, especially not before you've had your coffee.
