The city of Milwaukee is looking for 15 youths to help shovel snow during the winter period and assist those in need.

Project Andrew, named after late Milwaukee crossing guard Andrew Tyler, will employ youths to help shovel the snow from sidewalks and houses of those who have been verified by the Department of Public Works as being disabled or having other impediments.

Alderman Cavalier Johnson will be holding a news conference Jan. 25 to provide more details.

The program will pay the youth who complete the shoveling tasks. Interested participants between the ages of 15-20 should contact Mike Consiglio at (414) 372-9040 or email mconsiglio@mcscwi.org. Those who would like to fill out an application to have their sidewalks shoveled should email sanitation@milwaukee.gov or call (414) 286-2489.
